The San Jose Earthquakes loaned forward Cristian "Chicho" Arango to Colombia's Atletico Nacional on Monday.

The deal is for the 2026 season and includes a purchase option for Arango, who is returning to his home country for personal reasons.

Arango, 30, had 13 goals and seven assists over 30 matches in his first season with San Jose in 2025 after being acquired in a trade from Real Salt Lake.

The 2021 MLS Newcomer of the Year won the MLS Cup and Supporters' Shield with Los Angeles FC in 2022 and made the All-Star team in 2024.

He has recorded 66 goals and 26 assists in 122 regular-season games with LAFC (2021-22), Real Salt Lake (2023-24) and San Jose.
